THE RACE – Poleman Liberati starts perfectly and pulls away, completing first lap with almost 2 seconds of advantage over Salas, Solieri, Leutwiler, Cerqueda and Vivacqua, while Reischl starts from the pits after repairs following his off-track in qualifying.
The initial lap sees a contact between Carlo Curti and Font, with the latter not being impeded to start a furious battle with Vivacqua. O’Connor is also wide off in one of the fast corners, after a contact with Vivacqua but manages to retain P7.

By lap 6, the gap of Liberati reaches 9.9 seconds, with Salas, Solieri, Leutwiler and Cerqueda chasing him. De Wilde is sixth, in full fight with O’Brien (who gets a 5second penalty for the earlier incident), while at the back, Martinet spins following a spin. In lap 10, Leutwiler takes third from Solieri with a great move, with the Italian being passed shortly after also by Cerqueda, while Toni passes Font for eighth.
The driver change window opens in lap 12, with Liberati and Salas pitting in lap 15. After all changes,  Koller leads with 19 seconds over Basso and 31 over Leutwiler, who has passed Diaz-Varela for third, then Solieri, Eastwood and De Wilde. Basso receives a drive-through for excessive speed in the pit lane and before serving it, he is passed by the trio Leutwiler-Varela-Solieri.
The last laps see no major changes, except for Solieri taking third from Diaz-Varela.
