The 26 year old is no stranger to the British marque, having raced the Vantage GT3 in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup’s Silver class, taking one win and two podium finishes. Watson also competed at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, the Total 24 Hours of Spa and stepped onto the podium at last year’s Bathurst 12 Hour. Watson made his WEC and 24 Hours of Le Mans debut last season, scoring a third place finish at Bahrain and is now aiming to return to the podium in the D’station Racing with TF Sport machinery. Due to WEC’s opening round at Portimão being recently postponed, the season’s Prologue and first race will now take place at Spa Francorchamps, with Portimão being moved to June 13. The 24 Hours of Le Mans has also been postponed, now to the 21-22 August, this has been done in hope that the championship can welcome spectators to the event, with the necessary heath precautions in place. The WEC Prologue will now be on the 26-27 April, with the Total 6 Hours of Spa Francorchamps taking place on May 1. |
