The GT Open Cup to start in 2009 with six events on top-tier European tracks
GT Sport Organización officially presented the GT Open Cup today at Monza Circuit during a well-attended launch with teams and media.
The GT Open Cup, which will kick-off in 2019, is a completely stand-alone series, aimed specifically at Pro-Am and Am drivers and based on cars right one ladder below GT3.
The 2019 calendar includes six 2-races events on the most prestigious tracks around Europe. The GT Open Cup will be part of GT-Sport promoted race weekends, alongside the International GT Open and the Euroformula Open, and will have its own identity, top-level TV production and distinct communications tools (website, social media accounts, etc).
The 2019 calendar is the following:
27-28 April: Circuit Paul Ricard (F) 25-26 May: Hockenheimring (D) 22-23 June: Spa-Francorchamps (B) 7-8 Sept.: Silverstone (GB) 21-22 Sept.: Barcelona (E) 12-13 Oct.: Monza (I)
