Switzerland’s Niki Leutwiler took his maiden win in the GT Cup Open Europe today at Spa-Francorchamps after strategically mastering Race 1 at the wheel of the TFT-prepared and PZ Oberer Zurichsee-entered Porsche 911 Cup. The Zurich Am driver beat the other two Porsches of local hero team EMG Motorsport, which placed in the podium both John De Wilde, 2nd, and the pair Nicolas Vandierendonck-Bas schouten, 3rd and first in Pro-Am. In the Silver Cup, Marc De Fulgencio-Thiago Vivacqua imposed their Teo Martín Motorsport McLaren 570S.
With today’s success, Leutwiler takes the lead in the overall standings, two points ahead of VSR’s Brazilian pair JP Mauro-Rodolfo Toni, today 6th with their Lamborghini Huracan SuperTrofeo.
