THE RACE – Liberati, who had signed the fifth pole of the season, keeps control of everything at the start and takes the lead ahead of Cerqueda, De Fulgencio who took an excellent start, Leutwiler, Font, De Wilde and Vandierendonck. As expected, Liberati pulls away and by lap 5 has already a 9-second gap, while Leutwiler has taken third from De Fulgencio.
Positions among the first three do not change, but gaps grow, while Font emerges as fourth ahead of De Wilde, De Fulgencio, Pisani, Solieri and Lino Curti. Battle is fierce between De Fulgencio, De Wilde and Pisani for fifth, with Pisani emerging after a few laps.
In the meantime, the driver change window has open in lap 11 and provides an interesting duel between Díaz-Varela, who has taken over from Cerqueda and Liberati, who is still on track. After the VSR Lambo has also made its stop, the situation (lap 18) sees Koller leading with 21 seconds over Leutwiler, 26 on Varela, 33 on De Wilde, Viniyes and Schouten, while Bozzoni spins and is narrowly missed by Vivacqua, who has to go off-track.
It is Bas Schouten making the show in the second part of the race as he climbs positions and takes 4th by lap 25, while there is a nice fight also for 9th, between Salom and Solieri.
Two cars did not take the start of this race: the VSR Lambo of Toni-Mauro, after yesterday’s accident, and the Virage Aston Martin of Navarrete-Lobera, because of technical issues.
