EVENT PREVIEW: WTCR / OSCARO RACERS READY TO FEAST ON EAST
With nine races remaining and a whopping 1350 points still to fight for, the battle to win the 2019 WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO will shift up another gear when the Suzuka Circuit East Course hosts WTCR JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan later this week (25-27 October). A new layout for the bulk of the #WTCR2019SUPERGRID, the 2.243-kilometre track is the shortest on the WTCR / OSCARO schedule but is expected to deliver non-stop action and entertainment for the fans in the grandstands and for the viewers watching live coverage around the world. WTCR RACER TARQUINI’S SUZUKA SIX
Last season’s WTCR JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan proved decisive for Gabriele Tarquini and the outcome of the inaugural WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO. The Italian’s inherited Race 3 victory at Suzuka – handed to him when Kevin Ceccon was penalised for not having all four wheels of his car inside his starting box – put Tarquini at the top of the title table with just the Macau triple-header left to run. MONTEIRO’S COMEBACK REVISITED AHEAD OF WTCR RACE OF JAPAN
Tiago Monteiro made a heroic – and hugely emotional – return to racing at Suzuka on 26 October 2018 after 415 days of fighting to recover from the serious head and neck injuries sustained in a testing crash that could so easily have ended his career. In highly-charged scenes at WTCR JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan, drivers from the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO formed a guard of honour in the Suzuka pit lane. They then watched Monteiro take to the track for Free Practice 1 before following him onto the circuit. Click for full story.

KRISTOFFERSSON PUTS LEARNING FIRST DURING WTCR RUN-IN
Johan Kristoffersson has vowed to learn as much as possible during the closing three events of his maiden season in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO. The Swede arrived in WTCR / OSCARO as a two-time FIA World Rallycross champion but with knowledge of only two of the 10 tracks on the schedule, the Hungaroring and the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where he claimed his maiden win in the series in June. HONDA DRIVERS RELISHING ‘HOME’ WTCR RUN
With just days to go until the #WTC2019SUPERGRID arrives in Suzuka for WTCR JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan, this is what the four all-season Honda Civic-powered drivers, Néstor Girolami, Esteban Guerrieri, Tiago Monteiro and Attila Tassi have had to say about racing in the country. Click for full story.
