WTCR
The new era begins at Marrakech

Marrakech has the honour to host, in the upcoming weekend, the inaugural event of the WTCR. The FIA World Touring Car Cup is the brand new global competition at the very top of the Touring Car racing pyramid that has taken the helm from the WTCC and the TCR International Series.
The WTCR has adopted the TCR technical concept and regulations that had been launched and made successful by WSC, while the new World Cup is organized and promoted by Eurosport Events.
On the sporting side, there is a significant change compared to the previous series, as the ten events in the calendar will include three races each instead of two. So there’ll be more action to enjoy for spectators and TV viewers.
A new era begins and Touring Car fans no doubt have something to rejoice, as the WTCR full season entry list is absolutely impressive, with seven different brands represented and eleven drivers out of twenty-five who have been Touring Car world, european, international or national champions. A field that has not been seen in the latest ten years.
