TCR Portugal @ Braga
The season begins with two surprise winners

The TCR Portugal season opener provided a couple of surprise winners, as Armando Parente and Pedro Salvador claimed one win apiece at Braga. For both drivers it was their maiden victory in the series, while the more experienced Francisco Mora and Francisco Abreu failed to fulfil expectations because of an early collision.
In Race 1, Parente made a perfect start from third on the grid in the Team Novadriver Volkswagen Golf GTI, but missed his braking point at Turn 1 and ran wide. He rejoined in the lead though, because pole sitter Mora (Veloso Motorsport Cupra) and Abreu (Sports & You Peugeot 308) had collided. The incident prompted the safety car and when the race resumed, Parente was able to defend his lead from the Speedy Motorsport Cupra of Pedro Salvador who finished 1.2 seconds behind. Francisco Carvalho completed the podium in a Veloso Motorsport SEAT León.
Salvador imitated Parente in Race 2, taking the lead at the start from third on the grid. Salvador benefited from the fact that Mora had been dropped from second to the back of the grid for asking for neutralization of the parc fermé rules after his incident in Race 1. Pole sitter Rafael Lobato, who had taken over the Sports & You Peugeot from Abreu, followed Salvador, but lost contact and settled for second, while Mora recovered to third ahead of Carvalho.
After the opening event, Salvador is leading the championship with 46 points, seven clear of the pairing of Parente-Cautela; Abreu-Lobato lie in third with a gap of 12 .
TCR Portugal will be back in action at Vila Real’s street circuit on 22/24 June.

Pirelli World Challenge @ Lime Rock
A three-way fight for the title

The third event of the Pirelli World Challenge at Lime Rock Park confirmed that there is a three-way battle for the first ever TCR title in the PWC.
In the first race, RealTime Racing’s Ryan Eversley claimed his second win of the season in his Honda Civic and was quickly imitated by Brian Herta Autosport’s Michael Lewis who won Race 2 in his Hyundai i30 N. Lewis’ teammate Mark Wilkins finished second in both races.
With these results, Eversley retained the lead in the standings with 130 points, but Wilkins and Lewis have closed the gaps to four and 13 points respectively.
Eversley started from pole position in Race 1 and led for the whole race until it was red-flagged with three minutes left on the clock. Wilkins and Lewis chased him in the early stages and then ran in formation to finish second and third in their Hyundai i30 N cars.
In the second race, Lewis – who started from pole position – and Wilkins took command at the start, while Eversley followed in third position. While the two Hyundai cars pulled away, Eversley was given a drive-through for jump-start and then recovered steadily. Eventually he overtook Mason Filippi’s Volkswagen Golf GTI during the last lap for fifth position that became fourth following a penalty inflicted to Jérimy Daniel.
Behind the Lewis-Wilkins duo, Ortiz claimed third on his maiden appearance in the Copeland Motorsports Golf GTI.
The series will visit Portland International Raceway on July 13/14.

24H TCE Series
Buri and Kangas win 12H Imola

Only two weeks after their victory in the TCR class at the Nürburgring 24 hours, Antti Buri and Olli Kangas have won the 12H Imola, the third round of the 24H TCE Series.
The race was split into two parts, four hours on Friday and then eight hours on Saturday.
The Modena Motorsports Cupra (W. Shen/J. Shen/F. Tjia/M. Beche) had set pole position and finished the first part of the race in first position, 45 seconds clear of the Red Camel-Jordans.nl SEAT León (I. Breukers/R. Breukers) that had led for most of the four hours. The NKPP Racing by Bas Koeten Cupra DSG (G. Bessem/H. Hilders) was classified third ahead of the LMS Racing by Bas Koeten Cupra DSG of Buri and Kangas.
The Finnish duo dominated the second part, building a comfortable margin of seven laps. The sister car run under the NKPP Racing banner claimed second place when Harry Hilders overtook the Modena Motorsports Cupra of John Shen on the penultimate lap; the final gap between the two teams was of 3.8 seconds only.
The 24H TCE Series will resume with the 24H Portimão on July 6th to 8th.

TCR UK
New drivers and news cars at Brands Hatch

New drivers and new cars will make TCR UK's grid larger for this weekend's third event at Brands Hatch.
The most interesting newcomer is Alex Morgan in the Vuković Motorsport-built Renault Mégane TCR. This will be only the second outing for the French car after it appeared at Oschersleben in the TCR Germany opener. After a succesful test at Hockenheim, the Wolf-Power Racing will compete at Brands Hatch in preparation for the following round of the German series.
After missing the previous event at Knockhill, the pair of Stewart Lines and Carl Swift are back, having joined forces at Maximum Motorsport, with their Cupra cars upgraded with sequential gearboxes. Howard Fuller was also forced to miss the Scottish round; in Brands Hatch he returns at the wheel of the SWR Honda Civic he drove at Silverstone. The team is fully motivated after Sean Walkinshaw claimed a first podium result while substituting for Fuler at Knockhill.
Another to watch is, Robert Gilmour who has joined Carl Palmer jr at DPE Motorsport's to drive one of the team's Alfa Romeo Giulietta cars.
Finally, Oliver Taylor who is currently third in the standings behind the WestCoast Racing duo of Daniel Lloyd and Andreas Bäckmann, is switching from the Honda Civic FK2 to the new Civic FK7.
The decision was taken after a back-to-back test with both cars and means Pyro Motorsport will now be running two identical cars for Taylor and Finlay Crocker.
There is plenty of reasons to expect some thrilling racing in Brands Hatch, as the whole field is eager to stop Lloyd's winning streak that totals two pole positions and four victories so far.

TCR Asia & TCR Thailand
The two series race together again at Buriram

Two months after the season opener at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, TCR Asia and TCR Thailand will race again this weekend in Buriram's Chang International Circuit.
The Liqui Moly Team Engstler's duo of Mitchell Cheah and Luca Engstler arrives in Thailand on top of the TCR Asia standings. Malaysia's young TCR rookie Cheah heads the list with 47 points after his victory in Sepang's Race 2, while Race 1 winner Engstler follows two points behind. Lo Sze Ho of Maximum Racing is third, 12 points off the leader.
Pattarapol Vongprai of Vattana Motorsport and Jakraphan Davee of Alphafactory Racingteam by Pulzar shared wins in TCR Thailand. Vongprai leads the standings with 40 points, three clear of Davee, while Billionaire Boy Racing's Chariya Nuya is third one further point adrift.

TCR Russia
Nizhniy Novgorod hosts the third event

The TCR Russia championship resumes this weekend at Nizhniy Novgorod for rounds 5 and 6.
Although he has not won a race so far in his Audi RS3 LMS, Lukoil Racing's Aleksey Dudukalo is currently leading the standings with 58 points. But it's a very close battle, as the first ten drivers are covered by only twenty points.
Roman Golikov (Volkswagen Golf GTI) and Kirill Ladygin (LADA Vesta) are equal, three points behind the leader. They are followed by the reigning champion Dmitry Bragin (Audi, 52 pts), Dudukalo's teammates Klim Gavrilov (Audi, 48 pts) and Ivan Lukaschevich (SEAT León, 47 pts), Lev Tolkachev (SEAT, 46 pts) and the other LADA drivers Mikhail Grachev (44 pts) and Vladimir Sheshenin (39); Anton Badoev (SEAT) rounds off the top ten with 38 points.
