Wells took the start from third on the grid after Noble’s earlier qualifying run; and was unlucky in traffic before managing a full course yellow, dropping the car to the back of the leading cars. The stint, however, was a strong one and he handed over the Norma to Colin in third place.

The charge started, reeling in his nearest rival car. However, the job was made easier as he served a drive-through penalty, promoting the Scot to second place at the chequered flag. The result has elevated the pairing into third place in the championship.

The Grainmarket car suffered an early spin in the hands of Crader but recovered well in ninth place to cement eighth place in the championship with just three rounds remaining.
