Jesse Carrasquedo is preparing to compete in the second FIA Karting World Championship of his young career with determination and excitement. As this one will take place in Campillos, Spain, the Mexican driver in the OK category was keen to take part in the final round of the Champions of the Future series on the same circuit, in order to prepare himself as well as possible for the big event of the 2021 season. His final place at the wheel of his Parolin-TM Racing kart showed that Jesse is ready to aim for the top.
Jesse Carrasquedo has settled in Spain to continue his racing career on the European continent and learn his trade in the best circumstances for climbing the motor sport ladder. The Mexican started the first Free Practice with great enthusiasm, on a circuit that many drivers were learning. "The work with the Parolin Motorsport team was very important for me to get a good feeling on this difficult track," commented Jesse.
A TOP-FIVE FINISH AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MEETING...
The young Mexican hopeful was immediately in the top half of the hierarchy at the end of Timed Practice. Very fast in the Saturday morning warm-up, Jesse Carrasquedo confirmed his talent and his desire to do well by completing a magnificent first heat, going from 18th to 5th place in only 12 laps! He left many more experienced drivers behind him. Showing undeniable control and aggression on the track, Jesse made another significant comeback in the second heat, this time from 17th to 12th place.
Unfortunately, an incident that led to his retirement at the start of his third and final heat thwarted his progress. "Another driver pushed me off the track at the entrance to a corner and there was nothing I could do. I had the opportunity to qualify in the top 20 for the Prefinal, but I had to start in 30th position!" The start of this Prefinal would cause some turbulence in the field, causing Jesse to lose places, but he would bravely move up to 25th position. The Final was even more frustrating, this time the race stopped on the warm-up lap due to another collision!
