Rising star and experienced campaigner to lead team’s quest for silverware

CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment has its sights set on title glory in the FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2024, after confirming an unchanged driver line-up of multiple event-winner Niclas Grönholm and rising star Klara Andersson.

CE Dealer Team joined the World RX grid two years ago, placing third in the Teams’ standings in its inaugural season before improving to second last year. The forthcoming campaign will herald the beginning of the eagerly-anticipated new ‘Battle of Technologies’, pitting the cutting-edge electric RX1e cars directly against their sustainably-fuelled RX1 combustion counterparts for the first time – a significant milestone in the sport’s evolution.

“I’m incredibly excited about the upcoming season and the opportunity to compete against the best in the world,” enthused Grönholm, a driver with seven career victories to his name at the pinnacle of the dual-surface discipline.

“While winning is always the ultimate goal, I approach each race with humility and respect for the competition. Every season brings new challenges and opportunities for growth, and I’m fully committed to giving my best in the pursuit of success. I can’t wait to hit the track and see what we can achieve together as a team.”

The 27-year-old Finn – son of two-time FIA World Rally Champion, Marcus Grönholm – is targeting a concerted championship bid behind the wheel of CE Dealer Team’s electric PWR RX1e, having finished third in the title table in each of the past three seasons.

Team-mate Andersson made her World RX debut in 2022, since when she has rapidly established herself as a leading protagonist. After making history in Portugal during her rookie campaign – as the first female ever to reach the rostrum in top-flight international rallycross – in Hong Kong last November, the 24-year-old Swede then became the first woman to top a heat session in the series.

“I’m honoured to be confirmed as an official driver again with CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment,” commented Andersson, “and thrilled to be part of a team that aims for excellence in rallycross. With our eyes fixed on the Teams’ championship, we are determined to bring our best to every race and lead the team to victory.

“I’m incredibly excited to start my third season in the FIA World Rallycross Championship. This year is going to be really interesting with the ‘Battle of Technologies’, and it will be super-cool to have the finale ‘Down Under’ in Australia! Together, we’re ready to tackle the challenges ahead and make our mark both on and off-track, so let’s make this year special!”

The 2024 World RX action will get underway at CE Dealer Team’s home circuit of Höljes in Sweden – rallycross’ legendary ‘Magic Weekend’ – on 6-7 July.
