Salih Yoluc chasing Silverstone success ahead of Blancpain GT

In just his second full season of Blancpain GT Series, Salih Yoluc is searching for further triumph at the home of British motor racing this weekend alongside Oman Racing with TF Sport.

Based in the outskirts of Northamptonshire, Silverstone is a small town with a very large motorsport heritage. Built on the site of a former Royal Air Force bomber station, the circuit has been used for motor racing since the 1940s. But it wasn’t until the 1950s that it housed the first official Grand Prix.

Since then the circuit has had various alterations before becoming the track we see today, holding various sporting events from World Endurance Racing, to World Rallycross, to the British Superbike Championship.

Lining up this weekend alongside Charlie Eastwood and Ahmad Al Harthy, the trio have already had a dose of success having been on the podium during the first round at Monza (Italy) a month ago.

Despite the string of punctures during his stint, Salih and the team fought hard to climb back into third place where Charlie took it over the finish line.

Salih has a good track record at Silverstone, securing three wins and a handful of podiums during his career. Following the podium at Monza the team sit third in the championship and Salih is in high spirits about adding to his Silverstone tally.

"We were unlucky in Monza despite us getting the podium in the end. The two punctures really set us back and we probably could have won the race. We seem to be quite strong in qualifying, so we’re going into this weekend hoping for a win and some strong points.

“I like Silverstone and have enjoyed great results at the track in my career. I hope we can add to it this weekend and have a good race.”
