TF SPORT CROWNED TRIPLE BRITISH GT CHAMPIONS FOR THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING

An action-packed three-hour battle saw TF Sport claim all three available titles at the Intelligent Money British GT championship finale, at Silverstone last weekend. Dan Vaughan and Jamie Caroline fought hard to overcome a success penalty and took #97 over the line in second, ahead of their HHC Motorsport rivals and #95 teammates, to secure the GT4 Overall and Silver Cup honours.

Patrick Kibble and Connor O’Brien were a force to be reckoned with, from their victory at the Oulton Park season opener back in August, right to the Silverstone showdown. The duo kept Vaughan and Caroline honest with many closely-fought races and finished both third at the season finale, and in the championship standings.

With a total of 12 podium finishes, including three victories between the sister cars, TF Sport were also declared the 2020 Teams’ champions, with a 43.5 points advantage over HHC Motorsport. This meant that TF Sport are the first team to have won all three titles in back-to-back seasons and they take their total of title-wins to nine over the last two years with the new Vantage.

Giacomo Petrobelli and Tom Canning impressed in their GT3 guest appearance, with Petrobelli making his long-awaited return to racing and Canning debuting in British GT’s GT3 class, the duo were set to make the most of their three-hour fight. It was looking promising as Petrobelli qualified as the fastest Am driver and Canning fought hard at the front of the pack throughout his stints, however, this was to go unrewarded as contact from a GTC Ferrari forced #38 into retirement. A disappointing end for the pairing, but they both showed great promise for the future.

The TF crew head straight to Bahrain for the final round of the World Endurance Championship, where they are leading by eight points and after winning the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, the team are more than ready to claim another championship crown.

Tom Ferrier, Team Owner - “Claiming back-to-back triple championship titles is testament to every member of the team, they have all worked so hard to make this season happen and this was more than we could have asked for in such an unpredictable year. Patrick and Connor kept Jamie and Dan on their toes throughout the whole year, so well done to them all for their achievements. We are thrilled to sign off the season, once again, as champions.”
