AL HARTHY AND OMAN RACING MAKE BRITISH GT RETURN AT SNETTERTON 300

After the global pandemic forced him to sideline a full-season entry in 2020, successful GT racer Ahmad Al Harthy is back in the British GT Championship, with Oman Racing by TF Sport and their Aston Martin Vantage GT3, alongside his Total 24 Hours of Spa and Blancpain Endurance Pro Am championship winning teammate, Charlie Eastwood.

Snetterton’s 300 configuration will host rounds five and six of the 2021 Intelligent Money British GT Championship, with two one-hour races.

Al Harthy claimed British GT victory at Snetterton in 2013, aboard a Porsche 997 GT3-R, but is yet to win in British machinery around the Norfolk circuit, something Al Harthy is keen to change next weekend.

The double-header will take place on Sunday August 7-8, with both races being streamed live, and for free on British GT’s YouTube channel.

Ahmad Al Harthy, Bronze Driver - “I’m delighted to be back racing in the UK, back in British GT, with Oman Racing and looking forward to racing at Snetterton once again. It is a very challenging year still with COVID-19 continuing to cause so many difficulties globally, but I’m very proud to be able to represent Oman in British GT once more and we would love to get some good results at Snetterton.”

Charlie Eastwood, Gold Driver - “After a good run out at Silverstone with Giacomo in June, it’s great to be paired with another strong Bronze-graded driver in Ahmad for the pair of races at Snetterton. We enjoyed plenty of success as teammates in Blancpain, in the new Vantage GT3 and we plan on bringing that across to the British GT Championship.”

Tom Ferrier, Team Owner - “It’s great to have Ahmad back with us and flying the flag for Oman Racing in British GT. The combination of Ahmad and Charlie proved very strong in 2019, so this round was a great opportunity to pair them together once again. It’ll be the first time Ahmad has been back in the car since the Asian Le Mans Series at the start of the year, but I have no doubt he’ll be straight on the pace and looking for podium finishes.”
