CECCON: MY OVERTAKES WORTHY OF WTCR PODIUM
Kevin Ceccon says his multiple overtakes at WTCR JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan were worthy of a Suzuka podium. Ceccon snatched third place in Race 3 when long-term incumbent Tiago Monteiro pitted in error under a safety car period in the closing stages. But Ceccon was then stripped of the position when a five-second penalty was applied to his total time following contact with Rob Huff earlier in the race. However, by passing four cars in Race 3, Ceccon believed his eventual sixth place was not a fitting reward for his endeavour. Click for full story.

PRAISE FOR WTCR’S “SUPER-TALENT” AZCONA
Top WTCR / OSCARO rookie Mikel Azcona has been called a “super-talent” by his PWR Racing team after going third quickest in Second Qualifying at WTCR JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan. Although a fluffed start wrecked his hopes of a podium finish, the Spaniard’s efforts on an all-new track in changing weather conditions attracted significant praise. Click for full story.

MONTEIRO EXPLAINS WTCR JAPAN TOP-TWO DOUBLE MISS
Tiago Monteiro has explained the mistake that cost him a podium double when the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO visited Japan. After finishing third in Race 1 at WTCR JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan, Monteiro was on course to finish third again in Race 3 only to falter in the closing stages at Suzuka. Believing the race had run its course behind the safety car, Monteiro headed into the pits only to realise his error. But in the time that it took him to regain the track, Kevin Ceccon and Thed Björk had moved ahead in the train of cars. Click for full story.

LANGEVELD IMPRESSES THE BOSS WITH FIRST WTCR PODIUM
Niels Langeveld’s first podium in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO attracted praise from one of the people who pushed for his inclusion in the Comtoyou Team Audi Sport line-up this year. NINGBO HIGH TO SUZUKA LOW AMPLIFIES MULLER’S CONTRASTING WTCR FORTUNES
Yvan Muller went from 16 to 50 points adrift of the WTCR / OSCAROO title summit during a tough WTCR JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan weekend. Muller, the four-time FIA World Touring Car champion, arrived at Suzuka on a high after posting a record event points haul at WTCR Race of China where he qualified on pole twice and won twice in his Cyan Racing Lynk & Co 03 TCR. But a crash in First Qualifying in Japan left him near to the back of the grid for Race 1 – though he did battle through from P27 to P11 – and off-form for Second Qualifying, which he completed in P17, going on to finish P14 in both Race 2 and Race 3.
