FROM RACING ONLINE TO WINNING A WORLD TITLE IN 10 YEARS: KING OF WTCR MICHELISZ REFLECTS ON REMARKABLE RISE
Norbert Michelisz celebrated winning his first FIA world title by recalling his remarkable rise from online racer to WTCR / OSCARO winner. Hungarian Michelisz, driving a BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse i30 N TCR, claimed the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO in a thrilling final-round decider at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia yesterday, completing his progression from simracing to the top of the touring car world. HISTORY IS MADE AS LYNK & CO BECOMES FIRST CHINESE BRAND TO POWER AN FIA WORLD TITLE
History has been made in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO with Cyan Racing winning the coveted Teams’ title powered by Lynk & Co, the first Chinese manufacturer to win an FIA world title. Scores from Thed Björk and Yvan Muller during the 2019 season gave the Sweden-based team the entrants’ award by 34 points ahead of BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse in a thrilling final-round decider in Malaysia last night. GUERRIERI CONGRATULATES RIVAL MICHELISZ AFTER WTCR TITLE LOSS, WANTS “REVENGE”
ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport’s EstEsteban Guerrieri was quick to offer Norbert Michelisz his congratulations following his WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO title defeat in Malaysia yesterday. Guerrieri lost out on the crown during the 30th and final race of 2019 at the Sepang International Circuit following a dramatic battle for title glory. “Congratulation to this guy,” Guerrieri said at the post-race press conference on Sunday night. “I know him very well, he’s a very nice guy and as fast a driver as a good person he is. I’m really happy for him. It was a nice fight and I’ve really enjoyed all the year, to be honest. Click for full story.

WTCR WILDCARD DE OLIVEIRA TAKES TAG HEUER BEST LAP TROPHY
Wildcard racer João Paulo de Oliveira won the TAG Heuer Best Lap Trophy at WTCR Race of Malaysia after finishing a competitive fifth in Race 1 at the Sepang super-finale. The KC Motorgroup driver set a best lap of 2m29.887s in his Honda Civic Type R TCR, which proved to be the quickest race of thCivic Type R TCR, which proved to be the quickest race of the weekend. Both Races 2 and 3 were affected by heavy rain. WTCR / OSCARO title contender Esteban Guerrieri took the fastest lap in both the reverse-grid Race 2, which he also won, and in the super-finale Race 3. The ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Honda driver managed a time of 2m35.452s in Race 2, then late in Race 3 lapped in 2m32.050s. Click for full story.
