The opening round of the season at Paul Ricard saw a consistent run from Nobu, picking up from James in the second half of the four-hour race and completing the event after a tough - but trouble-free run - to the chequered flag.
The Italian round of the championship brings another fresh challenge to Nobu as he has never raced at the fabled circuit. A test programme just ahead of the race weekend is planned which will enable Nobu to get more familiar with the unique characteristics of the circuit which is amongst the fastest in the world featuring long straights and tight chicanes, all of which need to be mastered in order to achieve competitive lap times.
Nobo once again teams up with James in the #8 Ligier LMP3 and is looking forward to the event ahead.
“My first race in Europe was tough and a real challenge for me,” Nobu stated. “I really liked the Paul Ricard Circuit as it really flowed and had many high-speed turns, something I am not so used to from racing in Asia.
“My aim is certainly to improve on my own performance in Italy and I will continue to work hard with James and my engineer Mark to see what gains I can make, but I’m really looking forward to the Monza experience.”
Following practice and qualifying on Friday and Saturday, Sunday’s four-hour race gets underway at 12:00 CET: Follow raceday live.
