There are only few days before the start of the Baja Russia Northern Forest that will become the opening round of the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Bajas and the first round of the Russian Cross-Country Championship. The eighteenth race that will be held in the Leningrad region, will become a real motorsports festival for competitors and fans. The weather promises to be good, with light frost and snow. What could be better?
Unlike last season, this year the Organizers will hold a qualifying special stage, a Ceremonial Start and a ceremony of choosing starting positions. They will take place on Friday, February 11th. The qualifying special stage distance is sixteen kilometers.
On the second day of the Baja Russia Northern Forest racers will pass two short special stages, located in the immediate vicinity of the Igora Drive sports and entertainment complex, three times. The first Saturday special stage distance is thirty-six kilometers, and the second one – sixteen kilometers. The second day total distance including the liaisons is two hundred and thirty-three kilometers.
And finally on Sunday the race competitors will pass two long special stages – one hundred and twenty-one and ninety-four kilometers, respectively. The total distance of Sunday including the liaisons is three hundred and forty-seven kilometers.
Over three racing days, the Baja Russia Northern Forest competitors will cover more than six hundred kilometers including liaisons.
